Little Big Brake Kit WRX 22+ Testing

2022+ Subaru WRX

The LP Aventure 4 pot caliper brake upgrade offers sportier performance, improved safety and allows you to run smaller diameter off road wheels.

But what is the real difference between a stock brake system and an upgraded Subaru 4 pot caliper setup using Hawk brake pads and LP Aventure slotted rotors ?

The test
To give accurate results, the two systems were tested under identical conditions and on the same vehicle since the brake systems were swapped directly at the test track within a one hour time span.

The test consisted of five emergency braking episodes at a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph).

The first brake system to be tested was the OEM Subaru WRX 2022+ brake system.

The test was then repeated, this time with the upgraded Subaru 4 pot caliper using Hawks pads and LP Aventure rotors.

The results
The results, after completing the tests, were clear cut and clearly in favor of the upgraded Subaru 4 pot caliper using Hawks pads and LP Aventure rotors, perhaps even beyond expectations.

The numbers speak for themselves. The LP Aventure 4 pot caliper brake upgrade braked better under all conditions with shorter braking distances than the WRX stock brakes. It was also better at withstanding the extreme stress of the test and the
performance drop caused by the increase in temperature was much less than the stock brakes.

The numbers
After the first session with 5 braking episodes, starting at a speed of 100 km/h (62 mph), the LP Aventure 4 pot caliper brake upgrade system took, on average, 79 feet to stop the car. The OEM WRX 2022+ system, on the other hand, needed 96 feet on average to stop the car.

The shortest braking distance achieved when testing the LP Aventure 4 pot caliper brake upgrade was 74 feet and one inch, while the shortest braking distance achieved when testing the OEM brake system was
91 feet and 11 inches

That’s a staggering 17 foot difference !!!

It should be stressed that over 24 feet less stopping distance for each braking episode is not just a lot for someone on the race track. It is also a very significant safety margin for anyone. As well as the clear benefits in terms of performance and safety demonstrated by the test drive, there is also the stylistic advantage of the exclusive LP Aventure 4 pot caliper brake upgrade as the brake caliper size also allows you to run a 15’’ wheel diameter with meatier off road tires.
